Who we are

We are Celeste, Neri, and Little Libi - a husband-and-wife team (plus our littlest helper) who love baking and have been doing it for over ten years.

We bake from home in Austin, using a secret challah recipe we've been carrying with us for a while. We cover the cost of ingredients and packaging ourselves, and every loaf goes out with no price attached.

Why a challah

We love to spend time in the kitchen. And for years now we have a tradition: to wake up early on a Friday, bake those loaves of bread, and share them with others. We have done more than 10,000 of them. And we decided it's time to let others enjoy it - while doing something good.

Challah is braided slow. You mix, you wait, you braid, you wait some more. By the time it comes out of the oven, you've already spent the morning with it. That feels right to us.

It's a bread meant to be shared. Torn at a table, passed around, dropped off for someone who didn't ask but probably needed it. Feed people first. Figure out the rest later.

We bake on Fridays. There's something good about ending the week by handing someone a warm loaf - not a transaction, just: here, we made this for you.

The ingredients are simple. Water, yeast, good flour, sugar, and oil - not a healthy one. Egg for a good tan (you can ask us for one without). Sesame or whatever other toppings we're into.

Eat it warm, by itself, or with a good chunk of soft butter. Wipe whatever sauce you have left on your plate - it'll thank you. You can get sophisticated too, and we have good recipes for that. If there's anything left the next morning, it's the perfect candidate for a nasty French toast.

How to order

We bake every Friday. Pickup is between 12:00 and 14:00 - location coming soon.

How giving works

When you pick up your loaf, a clearly marked donation jar or digital link comes with a simple sign: giving is voluntary, and 100% of what's collected goes straight to the beneficiary.

We tally each batch's donations, transfer them onward, and share what was raised so supporters can see exactly where their money went.

What we stand for

Generosity without strings. Radical transparency. A low barrier to kindness.

No one should feel pressured to pay, and no one should wonder where their donation landed.

The donation model

  • Goods are always free.

No price tags, no pressure. Up to 3 loaves per order.

  • Donations are optional and any size.

Give what feels right - or nothing at all.

  • We take nothing.

No cut, no reimbursement for our ingredient or supply costs.

  • 100% goes to the cause.

Every dollar collected is forwarded unchanged to our chosen beneficiary.

  • We publish the totals.

Batch totals and transfer confirmations, shared openly for accountability.

Transparency

Current cause

We'll share our active beneficiary, batch totals, and transfer confirmations here as we bake and give.
